Hello, there! My name is Leo and I'm a handsome 5 1/2 year old orange tabby who's looking for a forever home. I'm totally lovable and I love giving attention and kisses to anyone that will let me. I'm a very special cat and I need a super special owner that understands I need a little extra care. I need to be on special food for the rest of my life because sometimes I get flare ups and can't help but go to the bathroom wherever I'm standing at that point. My special food really helps me and I'm doing much better on it. My food doesn't cost too much more than normal cat food and I'm totally worth that extra penny too! If you are willing to open up your heart to a cat that really needs a special home, I would love for you to come and meet me! I promise that I will always love you and greet you at the door when you come home. I've lived with other cats before and am cat friendly, so if you have any furry friends at home, I'd love to be their brother! Please think about rescuing me, because I can promise you that I will love you forever.Cat adoption fees are generally $109 (plus tax), unless otherwise noted, and dog adoption fees are $169 (plus tax), unless otherwise noted. Adoption fees include necessary vaccinations, a microchip, testing (FeLV/FIV for cats and heartworm test for dogs) and spaying/neutering of every animal that is adopted from our facility. If the animal is too young for sterilizing, the adopter is responsible to see that this is done. Once we receive confirmation that the adopted animal has been altered, a refund will be refunded ($75 for dogs and $40 for cats).

About Homeward Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

We are a small shelter that rescues pets from local impounds whose time is up, and would otherwise be euthanized. Because we only have 9 dog kennels and 17 cat kennels, we are very limited on space and often, we can't take in owner surrenders, but will do our best to help people in rehoming their pets. We offer several services besides adoption, including microchip clinics, pet-friendly rental housing listings, and Safe Paws (foster care for the pets of domestic violence). We are the only shelter in the FM area that rescues both cats and dogs, so without our help, hundreds of dogs and cats would be euthanized each year in local pounds.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our shelter is in north Fargo, near the Yunker's Children's Museum, located just off of University Dr. on 28th Ave. N. We are open Monday-Friday from 11am-7pm, Saturday from 10am-6pm and Sunday 12pm-4pm. We have adoption events throughout the year, and you can find more information on our website at or our Facebook page,

Our Adoption Process...

Adopters are required to fill out an application before adoption, and we process the application by the end of the following business day. All adopters must be 18 years of age or older. Once approved the fees for adoption are $109 for cats and $169 for dogs. Adopters must complete an adoption contract at the time of adoption.
