Mikey's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Mikey's Story...
Mikey is our super adorable and super handsome senior Peke. He is 14 years old, but is still active and has a lot of love left to give!! Pekes can live 18 years or longer!

He is up to date on shots, vetting and tested negative for heartworm. He is neutered.

Older, respectful children would be best around him. Does well with other dogs and cats, but probably would do better in a home that's quieter and not a lot of people and animals.

He is pretty mellow. If he is with other animals, he should be fed away from them because he can be a guarder. Likes to go for walks, but doesn't walk far. On a low protein diet. Can be a bit grumpy when you pick him up but an all around good guy!

His favorite snacks are red bell peppers, carrots and broccoli.

If this love bug sounds like he could be the one for you, email today for an adoption application!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mikey, a Portland Pekingese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pekingese for sale in Portland, or seeking a Pekingese dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pekingese breeders who help with Pekingese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
