Lucille's Story...
Well hello. How are you? I am fine. I'd like to tell you my story.

My name is Lucille, isn't that a pretty name. I am estimated to have been born the end of March 2016, so that currently makes me 5 months old. The vet thinks I am a Labrador Retriever mix. I'll go along with there. Perhaps I might have a little Heeler in me because of the black/white muddling on my legs.

I am very friendly. I LOVE attention from the volunteers, including tummy rubs. I am currently learning how to properly walk on a leash and that is going well. I do know sit on command.

I am looking for a family to call my own and I really hope that is with you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucille, a Oakland Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Oakland, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Oakland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakland paves the way for another one to be saved.
