Tegin was found with her weaned kittens and taken to a vet; another rescue took in the kittens while Rescue House stepped in to help their mom. Tegin was named for the lady who rescued the family.

Tegin is an independent lady who knows her own mind on how she likes things to go—and she definitely wants to be around you. As you move around the house, you’ll find that Tegin will often relocate so she’s in that room, too, even if you’re not directly interacting at that moment. Of course, interaction is great: Tegin will sit on your lap for a while, enjoying the chin scratches you’re giving her, and she’ll arch up to do the "elevator butt" when you pet her back. When she’s had enough love for now, Tegin will tell you to stop and jump down. Tegin likes to have a nice tall cat tree to observe the world from above, and if you’re working in your office she’ll "help" with the paperwork. Tegin’s playful side leads her to toss around small toys and she likes dangly string wands, too. At night, Tegin will find a cozy spot to curl up in your bedroom. She’s not a clingy cat, yet she is very appreciative of living with people and brings an easy comfortable vibe to the household. And of course, she’s got that one adorable white whisker!

Tegin would be a great cat for a person who works during the day since she is comfortable alone yet happy to spend time with you when you’re home. She’s not particularly keen on other cats though one other cat who doesn’t bother her is okay with Tegin—she just doesn’t wish to interact with her own kind much, as her preference is for people. We’re not certain of her thoughts on dogs, though a calm one may be okay once properly introduced. Adults or older children who will respect her cues would be best.

Tegin is that lovely blend of independent companionship and will be your true friend. Will you bring her home and find out all the ways you can have fun together?
