Meet the adorable Angel!! Now, this cutie wasn't much of an Angel when she first came in, putting up a fairly scary front and clearly uninterested in meeting anyone. Being that she was a mix (Dobie and Rottie) and she clearly had an issue with her eyes, we had wondered what we got ourselves into. We soon learned that her behavior was the result of major fear and she would wet herself whenever we tried to put a leash on her. We knew that she needed more one-on-one attention so after her eye surgery (entropian), she went to the sanctuary for a little more work. It took her a couple of days to get settled, adjust to the other dogs and decompress but she has absolutely flourished. She is super sweet, affectionate, smart and quite social. She is still nervous at times but never aggressive and easy to manage with a gentle touch and patience. Angel has been quiet, really well behaved and even gave in to some doggie play after some persistence. We don't see her doing well in a super busy household but she could be an amazing addition to a fairly quiet and low stress home. She loves her people and will happily spend time with you just hanging out or giving kisses. At about 3 years old, she still has a long life ahead of her and we want to see her spend it living a better life than she has had so far. She absolutely deserves it! Her eyes have completely healed and she is ready to go!! Angel will remain off site so she can stay well balanced but she is at the rescue in Fillmore, ca on Saturdays for adoptions. If you are in Southern California then we can also arrange a meet and greet during the week. To see more of our adoptable dogs please refer to our website at www.DobiesandLittlePawsRescue.org
We are a non-profit, no-kill rescue/sanctuary specializing in dobermans but also rescuing small dogs. Most of our dogs come from animal shelters before they are euthanized and are given a second chance at a new home.
Come Meet Our Pets...
We are located on a small ranch nestled in the orchards of Fillmore, ca. We are open every saturday from 11:00am-3:00pm for open house adoptions. We can arrange weekday or sunday visits by appointment as well.
Our Adoption Process...
We ask that you bring the whole family (including the four legged) so we can best match you with the right dog. Once you have found your new companion we will have you fill out a one page adoption agreement. We ask a donation of $200-$250 for a doberman and $150 for a little dog. All dogs go home spayed or neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped, with a collar, ID tag, and de-wormer.
