Hunter is an adult male Shih Tzu that was a stray from a high kill shelter. He only weighs 12 pounds and came to our facility incredibly matted and in some serious need of TLC. Since arriving he has had a bath and was shaved down and now he is feeling much better. When we were grooming him we did notice that he is blind in one eye, and paired with matted hair on his face he was very scared. You do have to go slow when first meeting him, and we can't imagine what this poor boy went through before coming to a big, scary, and loud shelter. He will do best in a quiet home with older teenagers or adults that will understand all that he has been through and will go slow with him as he settles into a new home. He does get along with other dogs as well. His adoption fee is $295 and that includes he is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines as well as current with flea/tick treatments and heart worm preventative. About Last Chance Ranch Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Last Chance Ranch has been in operation for over twenty years. In the Fall 2000 we asked the public for assistance and applied for our non-profit 501(c)3 status."LCR" rescues the old, the young, the injured, neglected, malnourished, abused, and forgotten. We accept all breeds: horses, ponies, drafts, donkeys, and mules and companion animals.
Recently Last Chance Ranch joined the ranks of small animal rescue to save at least a few of these "kill shelter" pets from such an undignified ending to their lives. With the acquisition of an additional 25 acres, LCR has completed construction of a new kennel to house pets that are awaiting their forever families. This will also allow Last Chance Ranch to house small animals in emergency or humane seizure situations.
LCR is available for Humane Law Enforcement and Animal Cruelty Investigations.

If it seems high to you then you should reconsider adopting an animal as the cost of veterinary, preventative, and personal care over the life of an animal is not something to be taken lightly.
