Piper's Info...

I am already spayed, a special needs pet, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Piper's Story...
Piper's spine is shortened, causing the familiar loss of tail, but it has also fused her vertebrae which locks her back legs into place and prevents her from extending them separately. Not one to be defeated, she has learned to hop like a bunny! She gets around without a problem and isn't aware of her physical limitations.
The nerve damage caused by the shortened spine unfortunately affects her bladder. Her foster mom has set up a low entry box to make it easy for Piper to come and go and she has shown great success using it without fail.

The problem Piper faces is due to her bladder being partially paralyzed, she has trouble emptying it completely. She is currently trying a new medicine that is proving effective so far and she's been pottying more frequently. However, sometimes when Piper is asleep her bladder relaxes and she can leak urine. This can prove frustrating and a game-ender for most adopters. Who would want a kitty who needs medicine three times a day and costs $20 a month, and who sometimes needs her bottom washed and might accidentally dribble on your couch or bed?

We're hoping there is someone out there, an angel, a savior, who could love Piper enough to see through her issues and limitations to take her home, forever. She doesn't know there is anything "wrong" with her. All she knows is how great life is, how happy she is sleeping in a sunny window, how much she loves chasing toys and strings and how thoroughly she enjoys being petted and told how pretty she is. She doesn't understand why someone might not love her.

Please help Piper find her purrfect match, her forever home, her guardian angel.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Piper, a Wichita Manx cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Manx for sale in Wichita, or seeking a Manx cat from a breeder in Wichita.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wichita already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wichita breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Manx breeders who help with Manx rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wichita paves the way for another one to be saved.
