Penny's Info...

I am already spayed, up to date with shots, not good with kids, not good with dogs, and good with cats.

Penny's Story...
Penny was found alone and abandoned by a young brother and sister who discovered she had an injured eye. After reaching out to WAAL for help, a vet visit was scheduled and surgery shortly thereafter. The vet said her eyelids never developed, which caused an ulcer in her left eye and it was removed. She has vision in her right eye, however it will need to be monitored. Penny has recovered very well following surgery and while still a little skittish, is coming out of her shell nicely, and just needs a patient, forever home without a lot of chaos. She is spunky, curious and loves to cuddle! She will do best with older children or adults only who can enjoy her antics while giving her time to trust.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Penny, a Wichita Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Wichita, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Wichita.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wichita already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wichita breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wichita paves the way for another one to be saved.
