Hi! I'm sweet, silly Sugar Plum, a one-year-old pup who loves affection and attention, toys, and cuddling for petting! You can see me enjoying playing with my stuffed lion one of my best buddies gave me here - https://youtu.be/FV3ZtEZgSt0. I was rescued from an overcrowded local shelter and am so excited to be in the safe and loving environment of Providence Animal Center! I have a hard time hearing some sounds, so a big, overcrowded shelter was a particularly scary place for me. I am decompressing here and my friends are figuring out how best to communicate with me (it turns out low pitches, high pitches, and hand signals work best). I have proven that I am most likely house trained and I know some obedience commands too.
I would do really well with people who could either give me a fenced yard to run in or regular exercise. I'd rather not live with other furry creatures - do you blame me? When I finally get a family of my very own, I certainly don't want to share them! The staff here has learned a lot about things that are likely to help me thrive (like the noises that I can hear best) and I, in turn, have been learning about checking in with my human when I'm out on a walk and how to walk nicely on a leash. It is time, though, for me to find my own forever home, for me to learn new things with a person or family that can be devoted to me and to building my confidence and trust, and for me to be able to bestow some of that love and affection that I so clearly have on a person who will love me to the moon and back. I'm ready to be the dog of your dreams so come on down to the Center and ask to see me - and get ready to fall madly in love!'
* Sugar is fully vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped. And she is loved SO much that a generous donor has sponsored her adoption fee! That means she can become part of your loving forever family for free!*
Providence Animal Center is funded solely by adoption fees and donations. Adoption fees vary per animal, please call the Adoption Center and reference this animal's ID number in order to obtain accurate fee information. The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed blend for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed blend. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
To foster or adopt this dog please call Providence Animal Center at 610-566-1370 during adoption hours. You may also email email@example.com. Can't foster or adopt? Donate to help our homeless pets, www.providenceac.org/donate.
Our adoption requirements and a printable application form may be found on our website. With your adoption fee you get a lot for FREE! All the pets adopted from Providence Animal Center are given wellness exams, are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped. Additionally, dogs over 7 months old are heartworm tested and all felines are tested for FELV/FIV. Adopters may receive discounted wellness care from our adoptions health department, and also get a complimentary wellness visit at a participating private veterinary practice up to 30 days post-adoption and the pets are given personality evaluations. It doesn't stop there- a gift of one month of pet health insurance is included along with unlimited phone consultations and e-mail exchanges with our trained feline and canine behavior experts.
Not ready to adopt yet? You can still guarantee the safety and well-being of any of our dogs or puppies by temporarily fostering one or more right in your own home. Visit our foster page to learn about the program. Then, email your application along with any questions to firstname.lastname@example.org for immediate review.
