Aaar matey - this is Captain Jack. He is a 6 year old male, neutered, chipped and in great health. His owner passed away and that's how he ended up in rescue. It's obvious he was well loved. Jack is totally house trained and completely non-destructive. He crates very well but I leave him in the house out of his crate and there is no problem. This guy is great with my three dogs who are all herding breeds as well, one an ACD. He is not food or toy possessive. He's not too food motivated honestly. He's a fabulous dog but he is a Velcro dog, needy to a point. Jack does not like being left alone and can get pretty vocal. Probably just needs to build self confidence. I think riding in the car makes him nervous, crating him in the car is probably for the best but he will whine. Again, I think it's a matter of consistency. I've socialized him and he does great in the feed store, hardware store, etc. Very friendly when he meets someone for the first time. Being so handsome helps! He was fabulous at the vet for his wellness check up and up to date on all his shots. He's the best foster I've had so far!!! Love this guy, he will be missed. The temporary foster said that Jack chases cats.

Captain Jack is being fostered in Ball Ground, GA. For questions, please contact

About Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Association

About Our Rescue Group...

We are an all volunteer group that rescues Australian Cattle Dogs. Our dogs reside in foster homes until they are adopted
Every year, thousands of Australian Cattle Dogs find themselves homeless through no fault of their own. Although the reasons are diverse, the result is the same. Healthy, adoptable dogs face euthanasia in shelters.

The Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Association rescues ACDs in shelters from Maine to Georgia and gives these dogs a fresh start with a loving family. Our foster home volunteers welcome the dogs into their homes where they live as members of the family. During the time in foster care, our volunteers determine what kind of forever home will be the right one for each dog.
