Odie has had a terrible lot in life, until now. His family didn’t want him, please don’t tell him! He was starved, and suffered throughout his years with Demodex mange with intense itching, open wounds, and no fur or coat to keep him warm in the winter. On the morning he was scheduled to be euthanized, Odie was rescued and began the road of recovery. His belly is now full. His scars are now healing and his coat in coming in beautifully. He is full of love for everyone! Is there someone who might finally love him, too?
Odie hasn’t known many people who loved him as much as he loved them. His heart is full! If you say a few kind words to him or a simple pat on the head, his tail will thumb against the floor and he will even smile at times, as if to say "thank you for loving me back!"

Odie is a very low maintenance, gentle boy who is eager to please and goes with the flow. He gets along great with other dogs. He tends to ignore them at first, but now plays with the 4 large breed dogs in his foster home. He likes to chase the cats, but they are way too stealth for him. He loves any ounce of affection that anyone is willing to share with him, but he is not a nuisance and doesn't expect much. He’s just happy to be a sweet shadow and receive an occasional kind pat or word. He’s never had an accident in his foster home and has good manners inside the home. The children in his foster home are ages 7 & 9 and they love him dearly. He has been around many children in that age group and done beautifully.

Odie’s favorite activities include taking long naps in the sun, hanging out with my foster family and dogs, playing in the garden hose and trying to catch the spraying water, and sitting pretty for treats. Boy, do I love TREATS!

Odie is a lover and one of the most incredible dogs we have fostered. And he is a survivor; his before and after photos can tell only half of the story of his struggle. It’s time for Odie to make one last move to the perfect home where he can relax in the love and care he deserves.

About The Bella Foundation

About Our Rescue Group...

Every year thousands of animals are euthanized or sent home to die because the people who love them cannot afford the cost of veterinary care. Stray and abandoned animals have even fewer options when they are brought into a clinic or veterinary office with no owner to pay for their care.

At The Bella Foundation, we believe that every animal should receive the best possible care regardless of the owner's ability to pay. When an owner brings an animal into a clinic for care and cannot afford the cost, the attending veterinarian can contact The Bella Foundation for assistance. If assistance is given, the owner must agree to volunteer at least 8 hours of their time at a local animal shelter. Stray or abandoned animals are cared for with no stipulation attached.

The Bella Foundation takes the placement of animals in homes very seriously and our goal is to do everything possible to match the right animal with the right animal. Our adoption application can be found on our website.
