Jet's Story...
JET is an adorable and sweet black male teenager kitten who is about 6 months old. He is such a gentle little guy who loves to play but never plays aggressively. When play time is over, Jet will snuggle with you….rubbing his cheeks and under his chin is guaranteed to cause purring. He really enjoys playing with his twin brother Jackson. Jet was rescued as a kitten from a feral colony, and because of his limited people interactions, he is shy with new people and situations. He has made amazing progress in his foster home, but will need continued patience and daily handling as he acclimates to his new home. The important thing will be to create a feeling of safety for him by letting him settle in one room of your home with everything he needs -- food, water, toys and a litter box -- interacting with him during this time so that he gets used to you being a part of his new life. Jet will benefit from lots of playtime with you, but most of all he will need your patience and love to blossom into an amazing and loyal companion. He would do best in a quiet home with older children only. Jet would love to be adopted with his brother Jackson, or into a home whether there is another playful kitty. We are offering him at a special "shy-kitty" adoption fee of $70, sponsored by Main St Mini Storage. Jet is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, tested negative for FIV/FELV, microchipped, deflead and dewormed and comes with a free vet visit. He is currently in the cat room at Petsmart in South Eugene (28th and Willamette). For more info, please call Beth at 541-255-9296.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jet, a Springfield Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Springfield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Springfield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Springfield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Springfield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Springfield paves the way for another one to be saved.
