Name: Graham     Breed: Labrador Retriever mix

Approximate Age: 1 year old    SEX: male

Approximate Weight: 60lbs

Has Lived With:  other dogs

Currently Living at:  DC foster

Special adoption considerations:  Graham is a bit shy and would do best in a home with another dog to show him the ropes!

Hi There!  My name is Graham!  I am a very handsome lab mix looking for a great home!  Do you think you could open your home to me?

A little more about me:  I am about 1 year old which means I am most likely down growing and out of that puppy stage.  However, I would still love some training, so that I can take part in all those fun activities that city pups get to do!  I would love to be able to go on trips to the dog park and walks or jogs with my new family!  After that we can snuggle up and watch netflix, I will even let you decide what shows to binge watch!

I must admit that I am a little shy and I would do best in a home with another confident brother or sister dog who can show me the ropes and put me at ease!   Additionally , I am not exactly sure how I feel about cats, but the nice people at Lucky Dog said they would be happy to find out for you!

Graham has spent the past weekend with a foster in the DC area.  He is loving spending time with his foster's dogs and is warming up nicely to everyone!  Check back for more updates this week!

Foster Update: 9/30/16

Graham is a super sweet playful boy. He has just the right amount of energy, enjoying a good romp in the backyard with his canine friends, he literally bounds through the air with excitement. Once he has had a chance to run around he loves relaxing and chewing on a good bone or antler. He has great house manners but would love to snuggle on the couch with you (or his pup siblings) if invited up. He is pretty shy when meeting new people but loves most dogs right away. Now that Graham has been with us for almost a week, he seems to be getting more comfortable and has been allowing his true playful personality shine through.

Like most shelter dogs, Graham may need a refresher on house training. He is likely crate trained.

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Annie Lurth at !

About Lucky Dog Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a group of highly motivated and highly dedicated volunteers. We spend countless hours making sure that wonderful dogs find loving forever homes. We don't do it for money -- we do it for the joy a dog can bring to its new family; we do it for our love of animals; and we do it to save lives!

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at

Our Adoption Process...

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!
