My name is Bernice!

Domestic Shorthair Cat for adoption in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma - Bernice

I found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

Bernice's Info...

I am already spayed, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, not good with kids, not good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Bernice's Story...
Bernice was born in October of 2015 and surrendered to PAWS in January of 2016 after being found running the streets. She is a feisty little girl who loves to "test" people with hisses and her "mean face" when in reality she is just a dominant female who will control the situation if allowed which is the reason she needs an adopter who is experienced with this type of cat. Once she learns she isn't scaring you, at first she is amazed, then she quickly comes to terms with it and can be quite loving. First time cat owners should think twice about this girl! If you are interested in this feisty girl, check our website for cats currently in our Adoption Center (she is up there luring people in then scaring them away on a regular basis!) or contact PAWS and keep reading please....

All PAWS-OK cats and kittens have been fostered in a home environment and are litter box trained, up-to-date on their vaccinations, spayed or neutered and have been tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV prior to being made available for adoption. The adoption fee is $70 (cash only).

A few of our cats are available to meet in our Adoption Center at PetSmart on NW Expressway and Rockwell in OKC. Please check our website at pawsok.com and go to the ADOPT tab to see their pictures.

The first step in adoption is to complete an Adoption Request form which we use to help us match you with a cat or kitten that best meets your desires, experience and home environment. To get one you can:
1. Download one from our website at www.pawsok.com,
2. Request one via e-mail at: pawsokrescue@gmail.com, or
3. Pick one up at PetSmart.

Thanks for adopting a rescued cat - they make the best pets!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bernice, a Oklahoma City Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Oklahoma City, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Oklahoma City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oklahoma City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oklahoma City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oklahoma City paves the way for another one to be saved.
