High Sierra Animal Rescue is a small nonprofit organization located in Plumas County, dedicated to saving the lives of homeless adoptable pets that can no longer be held at county shelters and providing with the care they need until they can be placed into permanent loving homes. High Sierra Animal Rescue is a private nonprofit animal welfare organization dedicated to saving the lives of homeless adoptable pets in Plumas and surrounding counties. All operational and rescue expenses are funded by individual donations, sponsorships and memberships. For the sake of the animals, your support is much needed and very much appreciated.
Membership Levels: $50.00, $100.00, $250.00, $500.00 and $1,000.00

Come Meet Our Pets...Our shelter is located at 103 Meadowridge Lane in Portola, situated in the Sierra Nevada mountains in a triangle between Truckee, Ca and Reno, Nv. We are open to the public Monday through Saturday, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Many of our adoptable dogs can be seen every Saturday at PetCo on S. Virginia Street In Reno, NV, from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm.
