Special Needs: Will need to monitor front leg after sequestered bone removal surgery by attending regular vet visits.
This very cute and very sweet mix was #found with no collar in Onslow County Tuesday July 26th. A good Samaritan called me and I took her to College View Veterinary Clinic for a rabies vaccine, flea treatment, pain meds & antibiotics. XRays were recommended. So a few days later we went to Porters Neck Veterinary Hospital for XRays, dewormer & a heart worm test & preventative. She was scanned for a microchip at Jacksonville Veterinary Hospital as well. She is used to a crate. (No microchip- no one claimed her after posting on Craigslist, fb groups, posting 'found dog' signs in the area she was found & notifying #Onslow County Animal Services) She has a front leg that suffered a fracture in the last few months (prior to being found) where a piece of bone broke off & her body encased it with a lot more bone. Sometime in the last 3-4 weeks (prior to being found) she was bit or got stuck in a trap creating an even more painful injury. She's hw negative, getting spayed at Porters Neck Vet and up to date on DHPP & Rabies vaccinations. After a full two weeks on antibiotics she got surgery at Eastern Carolina Veterinary Referral and Animal Emergency and Trauma to remove the piece of dead, infected bone that broke off. Now she is all set to be adopted into a loving home! #rescue #adopt #foster
