  • Age: Senior
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)

Hazel is a wonderful 12yo girl w good energy level who was dumped after years of giving unconditional love to her family. To make matters worse, a rescue committed to her, then backed out. Because the shelter thought she had rescue, Hazel has been with a foster family who raves about what a great girl she is but that foster family is in the Columbia area and is just temporary (through September 30). Our rescue was asked to take Hazel because they know how much we love the seniors. Her current temporary caretakers have this to say about Hazel:
Gentle, sweet girl, very affectionate
Snuggler! She loves a soft spot on the couch, chair, or in the bed. Sometimes she'll wander into a crate and lie down.
Hazel likes exploring the backyard, riding in car, snuggling, pulling kleenex out of trash to shred, lol. Likes to follow her people and hang out wherever they are. The only medical issue we know of is that Hazel is hard of hearing. She is house and crate trained. She has not been tested with cats or children. Hazel is not fearful of thunderstorms or fireworks and does not have separation anxiety. She loves people and is very social with those she knows and strangers.
She has lived with a large, male dog in the temp foster's home.
Describe the ideal home for your foster:
Home without hyper dogs. She gets along with other dogs not in her face, companionable with other dogs.

About Sinbad-Sadie Second Chance Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Many shelters in South Carolina do not have the resources or space to adopt out the large number of animals they receive. We rescue animals at risk of being put to sleep due to these issues. All animals rescued live in foster homes. Foster families socialize and care for the needs of the animals before they are adopted out. We fundraise to provide for the many medical needs most of these animals have.

Come Meet Our Pets...

After completing an application, potential adopters can set up a time to meet the animal(s) of interest. We also have meet and greet events at pet supply stores in the Summerville area. Check our website ( and facebook page for locations, dates and times.

Our Adoption Process...

An adoption application, home visit, trial period and contract are required for dogs. A trial period is not required for cats. Adoption fee is $150 for adult dogs, $200 for puppies, and $80 for cats. All animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated before adoption.
