Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lucky Lab is looking for a HERO in Texas to adopt this amazing boy: Gunner!
Some would call Gunner a special needs dog because he's a tripod, but we call him pretty special !
Gunner is an amazing dog! Gunner is what we call a "tri- pod" he just had one of his back legs amputated.
When we first saved Gunner he was about to be killed at an animal control facility because he was hit by a car. Lucky Lab raced him to an animal hospital and paid for two different surgeries to try to save his leg. Unfortunately though we tried pins, bolts and other methods to keep it none worked, he was in pain and we finally had to amputate.
Gunner is adjusting really well to life on 3 wheels ! We're looking for a nice foster or adoptive home where he can chill out and continue to heal.
Gunner is about 40 pounds and 1-2 years old.
He is great in a crate, walks in and never complains, he's house broken too. He's good with other dogs as long as they're not very dominant. Once he warms up he LOVES his "people", he just needs to take it slow at first.
Gunner is pretty darn wonderful with his foster family. If you’re his person, he’s great! He’s a sweet, velvety, loving, cuddly, playful, goofy lap dog. He's obedient, house-trained, walks right into a crate if needed, is not destructive (except to unfortunate dog toys), likes car rides, and is fine on leash (we just don’t walk near folks). He lets his foster mom do anything to him. He has no separation anxieties.
He is neutered, fully vaccinated and micro-chipped.
