Sammie's Friends is a 501©(3) non-profit corporation. We provide medical care for the animals at the Nevada County Shelter, making them adoptable, and we support other disadvantaged animals in Nevada County that would otherwise be euthanized to end their suffering. Sammie's Friends also operates the Nevada County Animal Shelter. WE ARE A NO KILL SHELTER!
Tuna and Toro were found at a local elementary school. We think they just wanted to be around children. Seems like they were abandoned so they took it upon themselves to find some friends at a school. Tuna and Toro are siblings that need to be adopted together. They've been together their whole lives. Tuna is the first one to greet new guests and Toro is very playful. They also get along with the other cats roaming in our main room. Please come and adopt this pair!

NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter! Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply.
