Marigold's Story...
About Marigold
Marigold is a sweet calico kitten who is a bit standoffish at first, but will cuddle when held and snuggles next to you when sitting still. She was born in June of 2016 (our best estimate), is up-to-date on shots and FIV/FeLV negative. She is being fostered in a household with dogs and other cats.

You can meet and visit with many of our cats at the AARF House (311 Harvey St, Winston Salem) during our adoption fair hours. Go to www.aarfanimals.org for information about our adoption fair hours and adoption process.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Marigold, a Winston-Salem Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Winston-Salem, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Winston-Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Winston-Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Winston-Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Winston-Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
