Description:   Hi there, over here.  I'm Nora.  Pardon me if I am a bit shy.  Things have been a bit rough so I am a bit apprehensive.  I was adopted two years ago off of craigslist by two sisters.  Everything was going fine until those two sisters decided no more living together and there was nowhere for me to go.  My mama searched for a place for me to go but time ran out and I was homeless in some random backyard with nothing.  I have no idea how to hunt.  Let's just say that my survival instincts are next to nil.  When my mama found out I was on the streets, she begged Saving One Life to take me in from the heat and certain death.  And they did, a nice woman swept in and got me out of the heat.  I have never appreciated air-conditioning so much in my life.
I finally feel like my worries are over!  I really love having a human brother (age 10).  He even lets me sleep with him (or on his pillow).  Everything is so nice to me.  I am a low key girl who isn't lookin' for much.  I just need a family to love me FOR-E- VER!  I am not picky about what my forever family is like as long as they keep me safe indoors.
Here's what my foster mom says about me:  Nora is a calico beauty. She is every inch the proper lady. She politely requests pets and loves by gently laying a paw on your knee or rubbing your ankles. She loves to spend time with her humans. She is content to lie beside you while you read or watch tv. Her favorite toy is a pop-up cat cub or tent. She feels hidden but she can still see everything. Nora loves her treats. Shake the bag of Temptations and she comes running. She is one of the sweetest kitties you’ll ever meet!

  • Good with Cats:   Nora has been around other kitties but can be a bit on guard so she would be happy as an only kitty.  If in a home with another kitty, a proper introduction would be a must.

  • Good with Dogs:   Nora has not been exposed to dogs.

  • Good with Children:   Nora would be fine with children 8+.

  • Companion Animal:  Not required

Health information: All cats and kittens will be spayed or neutered, FeLV / FIV tested, receive vaccinations appropriate for age, preventative deworming, and microchipping prior to adoption

About Saving One Life

About Our Rescue Group...

Saving One Life is a completely foster based, volunteer run, no kill rescue. Our motto is that although we can't save the world, it makes a world of difference to the ones we do save.

We primarily work with cats and kittens of all ages. We frequently take in "behavioral cases" including semi-ferals needing rehabilitation. We do take in purebred cats of all kinds but specialize in the Cornish Rex and Devon Rex. We occasionally have small dogs to medium dogs available. The majority of our animals come from the euthanasia list at the pound or off the rescue list at the humane society. We do have occasional owner surrenders, but we prefer to help those most in need first.

If you find a litter of kittens or your cat accidently got pregnant - please contact us if you are able to foster them. We cannot take in more animals without foster homes. All supplies and vet care will be taken care of - all you have to do is open your home and heart to them until they can find homes of their own!

All of our cats & kittens are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, blood tested for felv/fiv, dewormed, and microchipped. Adoption fee's range depending on the animal's age and breed. All adoption fees assist other animals in our care - we do not have any paid employees. We are a completely no kill group that provides sanctuary to any "unadoptable" animals that come into our care including hospice care. Our animals all live in homes with foster parents so that they can be acclimated to all sorts of situations and so that they can live as a part of a family until finding their "forever family" instead of in kennels or cages.

Come Meet Our Pets...

When contacting to find out about a cat/kitten emails are ALWAYS preferred and will get a much faster response. If you are leaving a phone message please speak clearly, leave your name, the name of the animal you are interested in, phone number and a brief message.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process begins with our application which can be found at After you submit an application please expect a response within 48 hours - please email if you do not get a response in that time frame. We may ask for a phone interview as well if we have additional lengthy questions. We may require home visits for special needs animals on a case by case basis. If you visit a kitty at Petsmart and want to adopt please either submit an application online or in person at the store with one of our volunteers.

We will adopt to out of state adopters but we do NOT ship animals under any conditions. You must come to us in person to meet the animal and make sure it is a mutual match. We have had many adopters come from the states around us and drive or fly with their new family member back.
