Sassy update:   10/19/2016:       Beautiful petite Sassy moved into her foster home, and she is one happy little girl!   Foster Mom says “ Sassy is extremely sweet and very smart. She knows basic commands of sit, stay, and “go outside”.   She is house trained and knows to go to the back door to be let out.  Sassy is a very alert dog.   She is petite. About 35-40 pounds, and maybe has some heeler mix as shown by her paw spots. She walks on the leash well and is friendly to other dogs she meets on her walks. Sassy would be a great addition to any family.”

Sassy is attending the Meet and Greet this Sunday, 10/23, from Noon-2pm at Hollywood Feed on Camp Bowie in Fort Worth.    If you are interested in adopting Sassy please submit an application at

UPDATE 10/20/2016:

Our three FW Animal Care & Control pups are finally all in foster care! They came to the shelter in bad shape...ear infections galore, parasites, among other things. Then, they all came down with kennel cough! Ugh! They finally were well enough this week to go into foster homes and are all three doing amazingly. It's apparent these dogs were once loved. They are all housebroken, know basic commands, and simply love people. They're so sweet. If you'd like to add Rusty, Major or Sassy to your family, fill out an adoption application at Be sure to check out our other adoptable dogs while you're at it! # adoptdontshop # fosteringsaveslives

Sassy is a 3 year old girl, abandoned in a backyard with 2 other goldens, in the height of summer, with no food or water, to starve when their "owners" moved.  Thankfully a Great Samaritan neighbor found them and took all three, Rusty, Major, and Sassy,  to the shelter and then called GRRALL.    Not surprising, Sassy and her mates were not spayed or neutered so that will be corrected immediately, along with a complete physical exam and vaccinations.  The fantastic news is all three are heartworm NEGATIVE. These are three smart pups, typical goldens, willing to forget the past and move on to the lives they were meant to lead.

We will better pics and a full profile as we get to know Sassy better.    If you are interested in fostering or adopting from GRRALL, please submit an application at

GRRALL serves the Dallas-Fort Worth/North Texas area.  We do not adopt out of this region and cannot ship dogs.  If you are out of our area please contact your local Golden Retriever Rescue, local independent adoption groups, shelters, humane society, or other group to find your perfect forever friend.
