Facts about Sassafrass *in Foster*

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Unknown
  • Age: Young
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: 413404
  • Hair: Unknown
Sassafrass, the sweet creamsicle coloured dude, is a gentle soul looking for his forever home after being surrendered when his guardian could no longer care for him. Sassafrass did find the shelter a bit overwhelming and has been living in a foster home where he has been showing his true nature. What his foster mom is sharing about Sass:

Has funny quirks like rolling up into a perfect ball when he naps
Loves to play with his feather chaser
Has figured out his daily schedule: in the daytime, he enjoys his independence, peace and quiet while you're away at work. In the evening, he likes to be by your side on the couch as a furry companion. At night, he'll choose between sleeping at the foot of the bed or on the couch with his blankie.
Would live happily in a household with adults where his low petting tolerance is respected. Sass is not suited to a home with children

Sass will take time to show his true colours and to trust newcomers into his life as would like feline-savvy adopters who will give him the time he needs. If Sassafrass sounds like the guy for you, please contact the Vancouver SPCA, 604.879.7721, vancouver@spca.bc.ca.

About BC SPCA - Vancouver Branch

About Our Shelter...

Our Mission:

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its 36 branches located around BC and its provincial office in Vancouver, the BC SPCA provides a wide range of services for more than 53,000 homeless, abused, and abandoned animals around the province. The BC SPCA was created under the auspices of the provincial Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, and is the only animal welfare organization in BC which has the authority to enforce laws relating to animal cruelty and to prepare cases for Crown Counsel for the prosecution of individuals who inflict suffering on animals.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
