Introducing TUCKER, a very affectionate, smart, and curious Hound/Terrier mix who is between 1 and 2 years of age, weighing approximately 50 pounds. He loves his toys, especially the fluffy kind with which to chew and play tug. He also enjoys laying by himself chewing on his Kong or elk antler, but if his Zora, the other dog in the house is around, he seeks her out so they can play. This silly and smart boy will dangle a stuffed toy in front of her until she grabs it so they can play tug.
Tucker has been great with adults and children, as well as other dogs. He is such a sweetheart, showing empathy when his foster mom is emotional, licking her face and trying to get close to her. Tucker loves laying on the couch, or on his foster dad. Tucker thinks he’s a lap dog. He just wants to be close and very much enjoys cuddling. Tucker’s foster mom says his personality is very funny.
Tucker enjoys going for walks and is generally good on the leash. In Tucker’s puppy moments, he’ll grab a shoe or slipper and bring it to his foster mom and do a “look what I have” show. So, his foster mom knows he’s looking to play and swaps out her shoe for a dog toy and Tucker is happy.
Because Tucker is young and curious, he needs to be crated when his foster family leaves the house. Tucker is pretty much housebroken, but has had a few accidents when he was playing with the other dog and got too excited; he understands “no” and will stop so you can run him outside. He’s very smart and will be fully housebroken in no time! Additionally, Tucker doesn't like the vacuum, hair dryer, or loud appliances. His adopter will need to do some reconditioning/training with Tucker so he feels more comfortable.
