My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi my name is Buddy!
I am an 8-year-old beagle mix. I was adopted from Rover Rescue on December 22, 2008! I was an adorable little 8-week puppy and I've shared my life with my also rescued, Cavalier King Charles/poodle sister. Her and I get along great! We enjoy playing together and snuggling with our humans. I love having play dates with other dogs, I am very mild tempered, not aggressive or territorial and I have no problems around small children. I've had my tail pulled, ears tugged and terrorized by some of the cutest little kids and I just lay there and let it all happen! I am up-to-date on all of my shots. I've gotten pretty chubby over the past couple years and although I only eat a 1/2 cup of food in the morning and another 1/2 cup in the evening, I need to go in a diet and I would really love someone to take me on leisurely walks and exercise me a bit to help get this stubborn weight off! The kid humans in my family have grown up and moved out; and the adults work so hard that there just isn't enough time in the day for them to exercise with me! My dad just moved to take a job in Houston and my mom works a lot of long hours. They're trying to get ready to sell the house and I'm just too much to handle right now. This is a very tough decision for them and they are heartbroken that they need to give me up. I too, am so sad to leave them, but I'm very excited to find a new forever home and a family that will give me the love and attention that I deserve! I'm housebroken, I never have any potty accidents and I love my crate! Every night around 9:00, I run downstairs and get into my crate and wait patiently for a treat and then I sleep the entire night~no howling ~no barking ~no crying .... I just sleep in my crate until my human comes down around 7 or 8 AM to let me out. If I get up before them, I will just wait quietly until they come down to get me. My crate is my home and I love it in there! Between my crate and my comfy pillow bed, those are my favorite places to be! I have also been taught to stay off the furniture! I've been trained with an electric fence, and that seems to work best for me! I have learned to stay within my boundaries even without my collar on; I know how far I can go… I'm one smart beagle! If you or someone you know loves beagles and is looking for one that will truly fill your heart and fill your home with joy and love, then I'm the dog for you! Thanks for reading my story and I hope to meet you soon! My adoption fee is $200. To meet me please call Teri at 630-897-7454.
