Description:  2014 PURRsche – Courage changes everything

Purrsche is the most amazing cat.  She and her 6 beautiful kittens, Pawserati, Purrcedes, Lampurrghini, Alfur Romeo, Supurru and Pawsda were scheduled to be euthanized at a Yuma high kill shelter when Saving One Life rescued them.  She and the kittens were starving to death when they arrived and poor Purrsche, as hard as she tried, was unable to provide enough nourishment and too ill to nurse her 6 babies.  We immediately rushed her and the kittens to the vet and got them on appropriate medication, in the meantime their foster mom had to take over hand feeding the kittens for a few days.  Purrsche was always there to wake her exactly every two hours to make sure her babies were fed, until one night she didn’t and the foster mom in a panic woke on her own and looked over the bed to find Purrsche nursing her babies.
It has been a long road for poor Purrsche, one filled with many bumps, an emergency surgery where they had to remove a section of her colon due to an obstruction which almost killed her and must have been so painful, yet not once did she ever strike out or show any aggression.
Purrsche is still a very young cat.  She is extremely playful, loves to run through fabric tunnels, bat balls and mice around the house, and perch herself by a window to take in the world that is finally  kind to her.  She is loving, loves to be loved and will purr up a storm, she will greet you at the door, is friendly to strangers, her fur is medium length but does not mat, she enjoys being brushed, she does very little shedding, will let you trim her nails, and if she needs medication, no problem…she is a pro!
If any cat truly deserves a loving , safe forever home it is this angel!  Purrsche is the purest expression love – there is no substitute.
·           Needs a companion animal: No, loves the company of people, but would probably be fine with another cat
·           Good with dogs: Unknown, but she was terrified of them at the vet’s
·           Good with cats: good with her kittens, unknown with other cats
·           Good with children:  she is so gentle and sweet she is likely to do well with gentle children
·           Special needs:  No

Health information: All cats and kittens will be spayed or neutered, FeLV / FIV tested, receive vaccinations appropriate for age, preventative deworming, and microchipping prior to adoption

About Saving One Life

About Our Rescue Group...

Saving One Life is a completely foster based, volunteer run, no kill rescue. Our motto is that although we can't save the world, it makes a world of difference to the ones we do save.

We primarily work with cats and kittens of all ages. We frequently take in "behavioral cases" including semi-ferals needing rehabilitation. We do take in purebred cats of all kinds but specialize in the Cornish Rex and Devon Rex. We occasionally have small dogs to medium dogs available. The majority of our animals come from the euthanasia list at the pound or off the rescue list at the humane society. We do have occasional owner surrenders, but we prefer to help those most in need first.

If you find a litter of kittens or your cat accidently got pregnant - please contact us if you are able to foster them. We cannot take in more animals without foster homes. All supplies and vet care will be taken care of - all you have to do is open your home and heart to them until they can find homes of their own!

All of our cats & kittens are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, blood tested for felv/fiv, dewormed, and microchipped. Adoption fee's range depending on the animal's age and breed. All adoption fees assist other animals in our care - we do not have any paid employees. We are a completely no kill group that provides sanctuary to any "unadoptable" animals that come into our care including hospice care. Our animals all live in homes with foster parents so that they can be acclimated to all sorts of situations and so that they can live as a part of a family until finding their "forever family" instead of in kennels or cages.

Come Meet Our Pets...

A few of our fabulous cats and kittens can be seen at 2860 E Germann Rd, Chandler, AZ 85286. Call the store or email if you are looking to see if a particular one may be there, otherwise with a completed application we are happy to schedule an appointment with any of the animals in foster homes.

When contacting to find out about a cat/kitten emails are ALWAYS preferred and will get a much faster response. If you are leaving a phone message please speak clearly, leave your name, the name of the animal you are interested in, phone number and a brief message.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process begins with our application which can be found at www.savingonelife.org. After you submit an application please expect a response within 48 hours - please email if you do not get a response in that time frame. We may ask for a phone interview as well if we have additional lengthy questions. We may require home visits for special needs animals on a case by case basis. If you visit a kitty at Petsmart and want to adopt please either submit an application online or in person at the store with one of our volunteers.

We will adopt to out of state adopters but we do NOT ship animals under any conditions. You must come to us in person to meet the animal and make sure it is a mutual match. We have had many adopters come from the states around us and drive or fly with their new family member back.
