Maxie's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Maxie's Story...
Maxie came into our rescue only two days ago from New Britain CT Animal Control.

He had come into the pound as an owner surrender and they wanted to know if we could help him out by giving him a freedom ride.

We went to the pound and met Maxie, and said absolutely, of course we can do that!

Right now he is on spending a couple of days at our vet's office, and then will move to a foster home..

Maxie is totally adorable! He's a tiny terrier mix puppy, only about 5 months old. He is lovable and well-mannered, and rode very well in the car on his way to the vet's office for his intake exam.

Maxie has not yet been tested with other animals or children, but we will do that soon - and believe he will be fine with all of them.

He will need to have his neuter surgery, and then will be all set to move to a brand new forever home.

We would love to have one ready and waiting for him!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maxie, a Groton Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Shih Tzu puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Shih Tzu for sale in Groton, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Shih Tzu puppy from a breeder in Groton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Groton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Groton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Shih Tzu breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Groton paves the way for another one to be saved.
