This super handsome fellow is Maynard!! He is a beautiful red color and we believe he is a Belgian Malinois/Tervuren mix. His spotted tongue is just the best thing ever! He was saved from a kill shelter in Georgia, just before his time was up. We believe he is 1 1/2 - 2 years old. He still acts very much like a puppy. Maynard is a large dog. He’s very tall and still a bit too thin even at his 51lbs – but we’ll get him fattened up in no time. He is very friendly to people, even strangers and he loves other dogs and to play. Maynard chases balls and plays tug of war with stuffed animals. He lays on the couch and chills while his people are watching TV. He likes to be outdoors a lot. He’ll lay on the patio and watch the squirrels play in the trees. He does need to work on house training but he’s very smart and treat motivated, so he’ll get it. He likes to jump up and hugs with his legs and enjoys lots of petting. Overall he is a very happy dog who learns quickly and is very intelligent. He doesn't like being left alone in a crate but will sleep in one as long as you’re in the room with him. An ideal home will be someone who doesn’t leave for long periods of time so a crate doesn’t have to be utilized, a home with a fenced yard and one without small children as Maynard is still learning his manners. Maynard will be fostered in NJ and an approved adopter should be willing to meet him/adopt him in NJ. Maynard is healthy, neutered and up to date on his vaccines.
