Meet Jaxon  - AKA Jax:

Age: 1

Weight: 55 pounds

Jax is a sweet Bull Terrier / Pit Bull mix. He is independent yet snuggly and eager to learn. He is approximately one year old and is full of energy. Although he is really sweet, he is strong, and he'll need a strong owner who will help him get plenty of exercise and teach him the in's and out's of being a good dog.
We don't have much of a background on Jax. He is from Garland TX and based on our time with him he seems to have been taken care of but lacks basic training. He is house trained and is now learning his name. The first command he nailed was sit, and we're now working on lay down, watch me, kennel up, and wait.
Jax will do well in a home that can give him exercise daily. A fenced yard would also be best for him, he loves to be outside running around at max speed aka the zoomies. He is good with other dogs with slow introductions. He currently lives with another young male dog and the two do very well together. He does react with excitement and strong pulling towards dogs on walks or dogs who bark at him from homes or cars. This is probably the area he needs the most work.
Because he doesn't know his own strength he will likely be a better fit in a family with older kids.  With your guidance, he can continue to develop into a wonderful young man.

About Twin Cities Pet Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Twin Cities Pet Rescue (TCPR) is a small, 501c3 nonprofit, companion animal rescue organization. TCPR does not have a facility and is 100% foster-based. TCPR rescues dogs, cats and small animals of all breeds; rescuing them from city impounds, puppy mills, and other situations of abuse and neglect. Once rescued, all animals receive veterinary care ranging from spay/neuter, vaccines, microchips, and basic testing to specialty eye surgeries, pet dermatology care, and various other specialty treatments. Once an animal is rescued by TCPR, it remains in a foster home until adopted, no matter how long that might take.
TCPR often rescues animals that are considered “less adoptable” by other rescue organizations, as they are often the ones overlooked and truly left behind; and in need of the most help. These animals might be overlooked due to their age, health status, special needs or breed. TCPR works to help as many animals in need find their furever families as we can, especially helping those animals that need help most.

Our Adoption Process...

All adopters complete an adoption application. If approved, we arrange a meet and greet. Cats and small animals can be adopted and go home at the time of the meet and greet after the adoption agreement is complete and adoption fee collected (which is variable based on animal type, etc). For dogs, we complete home visits and then finalize the adoption.
