My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

1/31/11 ADOPTION PENDING!
(January 2011) Reese just came back to us after being happy in a home for 2 years. His adopter now has serious health issues and is no longer able to care for Reese, so he is looking for a forever home again. Check back soon for updates!

He is an owner surrender, about 10 lbs. Up to date on shots (I will need to get a heart worm test done). He is a long haired red with black overlay. Really a beautiful little man, sweet, sweet face. He is 6 yrs old and neutered. He might be under the 10 lbs, with all his long hair it is hard to tell.
He is a very active, outgoing guy. He needs time to adjust to meeting new people. He will bark and try to protect his family but will calm down once he knows the person. He is very smart and very strong willed. He will follow commands and rules but will challenge if the rules are not enforced. He loves structure. He is great with kids once he knows them and other dogs once he knows them. He must be adopted by a doxie savvy home who will keep him in check.

He needs to be an only dog in a stable and quiet home. His background was in a loud abusive home where he was locked in his crate for long periods of time. He does not do well in a crate. He needs people who are willing to walk him and spend the time being loving and gentle where he will be given the time to settle into his new home. He gets stressed out when the dogs bark and run or if I yell at them to settle. He needs quiet, easy going adults or older children. He is fine with the boys next door and new people now.

Reese's adoption fee is $225.00 He is in a foster home in Southern New Jersey. For more information about Reese, please contact his foster Mom, Julie at JEIRE@comcast.net or 609-868-0875.
