Dudley is a wonderful dog who is looking for a special adopter that will be patient with him. Prior to living the good life in his SAAP foster home, it is believed that Dudley lived outside. Because of this, it takes him a little time to feel comfortable, but once he does he is super loving and a total sweetheart. Dudley is very submissive and when he gets nervous he freezes up and will not move for anything. When this happens, he has to be picked up and carried to where he needs to go. He did this quite a bit over the first few days in his foster home, but after a little time he gets over this and moves around like normal. Dudley is fearful of men. Sometimes he does fine, but other times you can tell he is uncomfortable when there are men around. He bonded very quickly to his foster mom and follows her everywhere she goes. Some of Dudley’s favorite things to do are cuddle on the couch with his foster mom and play in the backyard with the other dogs and the squeaky toys. Dudley does not like to be crated to the point that he actually injured his face in the crate one day when his foster parents were at work. Since that happened, he has not been crated. The good news is that he does not get into anything and he only had a couple accidents early on, so he seems to be house trained. At night, Dudley sleeps in bed right next to his foster mom. He gets along great with other dogs and cats. He has never shown even an ounce of aggression in any situation. Dudley walks fairly well on a leash, but for his confidence he must first feel comfortable with the handler, so the first week or so leash walking could be a bit challenging. Because of this, he may do best in a home with a fenced in yard. He gets a little nervous on walks when strangers are around, but it is minimal. As far as appearance goes, Dudley is absolutely gorgeous and very unique looking. He has Schnauzer fur and a Bassett Hound body weighing in at about 33 pounds. He is truly an amazing dog who deserves a wonderful home where he can continue to see how kind and loving people can be.

All SAAP dogs and puppies are vet checked, UTD on vaccines, spayed/neutered, micro chipped, and given flea and heartworm preventatives as age appropriate.

About Stray Animal Adoption Program

About Our Rescue Group...

We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 non profit organization. We are dedicated to the rescue of animals that are in need of a forever home. Our animals are fostered in homes where we provide love, food, medical care and socialization until adoption into a new loving home. We educate on the importance of spaying and neutering of all pets.

We ensure all animals have been spayed or neutered prior to adoption. They are micro-chipped, up to date on shots and on heartworm and anti-flea medications (as age appropriate). They are ready and waiting to start their new life with their fur-ever family. Could that be you?

We need your help to continue our mission. We rely solely on donations and fundraisers. All donations are tax-deductible and 100% of your donation will go towards the rescue, care, and medical needs of the animals.

Our Adoption Process...

You are required to sign a legally binding contact on your new pet. As part of that contract, should you no longer be able to keep the animal for any reason, the animal MUST be surrendered back to SAAP. This is to ensure the animal is placed back in foster care while we secure a new approved home for the animal. However, we always try to ensure that the initial placement is best for the pet and your family. We reserve the right to refuse any adoption.
