Seven's Story...
Meet Seven
Seven may look like “just” a black cat, but she is so much more. She has been a staff and volunteer favorite since she first arrived. Most cats are scared for the first few days or weeks after big changes, but not Seven. Her whole life was turned upside down, but she just settled in & started giving out hugs & purrs. Her calm energy helps the other cats & she has become like a den mother. We think she was born sometime in 2014 or 2013, so she is still quite young. She doesn’t care much about toys. She loves to be petted & brushed. Her one vice is that she thinks all laps are hers. She is good with children and seems OK with the dogs she has met. Seven is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, & tested for Feline Leukemia & Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. And she is SPECIAL! To meet Seven, call 540/586-6100 or go to bhsva.org to complete an Adoption Application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Seven, a Bedford Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Bedford, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Bedford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bedford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bedford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bedford paves the way for another one to be saved.
