Hi! My name is Emmitt, and my birthday is December 21, 2015. I don’t know why, but my Foster Mom is always calling me Emmitt Smith. Something about the Dallas Cowboys? Apparently the other dogs I live with are Eli “Manning” from the New York Giants and Payton “Peyton Manning” from the Indianapolis Colts/Denver Broncos. I guess it’s pretty fitting, because we love to play and rough-house together and she says we’ll be great quarterbacks and running backs when we grow up. There are two other dogs in my foster home, Siren and Skye. With those names, they obviously aren’t vying for positions in the NFL.
So about me…well, I love other dogs! It doesn’t matter if they’re male or female. I’m not picky! I currently live with two girls and two boys. After play-time, I like to lay down with a yummy deer antler or even sit and stare at bunny in his home. I’d really like for my Foster Mom to let me play with bunny, but she’s afraid I might like bunny too much and inadvertently hurt him.
I know the commands sit, down, shake, rollover, kennel (my crate), and come. I have some pretty cool super hero moves too! I can leap from the back of a sofa and land on the front-side of the sofa. My foster mom should really consider calling me Super Dog instead of Emmitt Smith. I like to go on walks, and I love to stop and smell everything! I kind of drag my Foster Mom when I’m really excited, so I’m working on slowing down, since she obviously can’t keep up.
When you want me to go in my crate, all you have to do is say “kennel”, and I’m there waiting for my kennel treat. My foster mom brags all the time about how quiet I am in my crate. I sleep all night and don’t disturb anybody in the middle of the night. I can’t wait to see my Foster Mom in the morning to give her kisses, hugs, and to get outside to potty. Oh by the way, I’m potty-trained. Don’t need to worry about accidents with me. I’m a big boy now!
I love all people! I don’t act shy or stand-offish. I’m ready to meet anybody that comes my way. I don’t have a strong herding instinct, but I’m pretty agile…remember my super hero move! I like to play fetch, and I’m currently working on “drop” command. I’m looking for a home where I have other dogs to play with and a human to shower me with kisses and hugs at least a few times per day. Other than that, I’m pretty low maintenance.
