Hensy and Gretty's Story...
Hensy (brown) and Gretty (orange and white) are two adorable baby girls looking for a home together. They are fast, curious, and love to chew their way through hay tunnels and hideouts. With these girls, hideouts become spacious almost instantaneously-  a window pops up here, a back door here, and sooner than we know it, they are ready for another house. Hensy and Gretty love their daily play pen adventures, and have let us know that we need to find them a home that will continue with the tradition. Staying in Brooklyn, at Empty Cages’ rescue center, the girls get very excited and vocal once the volunteers start making their play pen ready. They can barely hold in the squeaks and start popcorning even before they make it in. Once in full play mode, they are often seen chatting away, running at full speeds through the tunnels, and even squeaking along to music. They probably think they are singing, but we aren’t quite convinced.

Both Hensy and Gretty are around 2 month old, healthy, Abyssinian guinea pigs, and they're ready for their new lives to begin.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hensy and Gretty, a Brooklyn Guinea Pig was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Guinea Pig for sale in Brooklyn, or seeking a Guinea Pig from a breeder in Brooklyn.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Brooklyn already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Brooklyn breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Guinea Pig breeders who help with Guinea Pig rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Brooklyn paves the way for another one to be saved.
