I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.
Buford is a 3 year old, 90 lb Treeing Walker Coonhound. Buford is big, beautiful boy! He is a friendly & energetic, and loves to be in the middle of anything fun. He LOVES kids and is very gentle with them. He loves to go to the dog park, and he will run up to any child he sees to say hello! Buford really likes being outside on nice days, and he would love to have a big yard or some acreage to run around on. He gets along with almost all people, except he may be a little fearful of some men. He loves to be close to his people, and he is a "leaner" He will lean into anyone he feels secure and comfortable with. He is loyal and protective of his family. He gets along with other small male and female dogs, and large female dogs. He may not do well with other large male dogs. He will do fine with an inside cat if introductions are done properly. He will not do well with outside cats as he will view them as prey. Buford loves to take walks and sniff out everything with that hound nose. He also loves car rides. He is housebroken with a doggie door. He sleeps on a big dog bed, or sometimes in bed with his people. He has learned to sit, stay and shake - for treats, of course!
Humane Tomorrow is a non-profit 501(c), all volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue and placement of unwanted and abused animals in Flower Mound and the surrounding areas. We are also committed to spay/neuter assistance and education to companion animal guardians.
We do not have a shelter, so all animals in our program are placed in temporary foster homes until permanent homes can be found.
We have Adopt A Pets on the second and forth Saturday each month at
Petsmart in Flower Mound.
6060 Long Prairie Road (Hwy. 2499)
Flower Mound, Texas 75028
We also have AdoptAPurrs (cats only) at Petsmart each Sunday AFTER an Adopt A Pet.
Going North on Hwy.2499, the Petsmart will be on the right, just before Justin Road (FM407)
You can see all our animals there or, if you find an animal you just can't wait to see, call or E-mail for an appointment.
Our Adoption Process...
All potential adopters must fill out an application for the animal they want to adopt, which is available on our website. Humane Tomorrow does not do adoptions outside of the DFW Metroplex.
Our adoption fees are... Cats: $120 for kittens & cats $140 for declawed cats $100 for senior cats (10 yrs +)
Dogs: $200 for puppies and dogs $175 for senior dogs (senior depends on breed and size) Note that some dogs may have higher adoption fees if they are very adoptable or "designer" breeds
This adoption fee helps to cover the costs of basic preventative care including spay or neuter, vaccines (including Rabies and virals), heartworm tests and preventative for dogs, FeLV/FIV tests for cats, in addition to extra medical care the animal may need, such as heartworm treatment, dental, or surgery. Often our adoption fees do not even cover costs for basic medical care the animals need, and are certainly cheaper than if all these procedures were covered by the owner.
Humane Tomorrow reserves the right to deny any application for any reason.

NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter!
Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures,
