Alice's Story...
This little lady is Alice, who is a beagle/hound mix approximately 4 years in age. You could not ask for a more friendly and gentle dog. She adores people -- and other dogs! (Cats are unknown at this time). This happy-go-lucky hound loves to go on walks and explore the neighborhood. Her tail starts wagging the second she notices a human or dog coming her way - she always stops in hopes she gets to meet them! Indoors she has made a lot of progress on her house training and does best when kept on a regular schedule -- she would be a good fit in a home where someone is around during the day. A family who is looking for a love bug - look no further - this is your girl!

We recommend and encourage you to complete an application at http://henricohumane.org/adopt/application-for-dogs/ before coming to our next adoption event. To find out if I will be attending our next adoption event, please email dogs@henricohumane.org.

Adoption events are every Saturday, excluding holidays, at the Petco located at 11331 W. Broad Street, Glen Allen, VA (next to Trader Joe’s) from 11:00am to 2:00pm.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Alice, a Richmond Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
