Here's what the humans have to say about me:
I’m Phoenix! You may remember me from Global Saskatoon’s Adopt a Pet
Segment. I was New Hope’s Spokes-dog for their August food drive. In case you missed it, you can see it on http://globalnews.ca/news/2880751/new-hope- dog-rescue-seeking- food-donations- from-saskatoon/
It’s been a whirlwind since then, with my latest work called Phoenix’s Foster
Home. My agent (a.k.a. Foster Mom) has been just super; got me spayed, house and crate trained, but I am now ready to move on to my biggest role yet, Phoenix Finds a Fur-ever Home, with you, my life long director(s) to be. I have a long career ahead of me, as I am only 18 months old.
My agent says I am so very easy to work with, gentle and a quick learner. All I
want is to be with my humans, though I prefer older humans, the really, really
young ones can make me nervous. I can also be a little particular about men, in
my past it wasn’t always the best experience, but have learned to trust some men again. Being a professional, I practice my lines (ie. Bark! Bark! Baaaark!!) in my head, and I have only practiced them out loud once or twice because the bunnies who went by, asked me too. I enjoy daily walks, and with so little practice, pre-stardom, I walk very well on the leash. I am neither fast, nor slow, I do not pull, and I just wait patiently for you when you need to visit with one of my adoring fans. As an actress, I do need to travel sometimes, but I really do not like automobile travel, and would prefer my next starring role to be fairly un-mobile. “Four (paws) on the floor,” I say.
Now all great actresses constantly have their physical attributes scrutinized, but I don’t mind, as I have been told over and over again, how gorgeous I am. My
doctor said my coat was, “the most beautiful, healthy coat she had ever seen”.
My beauty regimen, if you were wondering, is very simple; weekly brushing as I
shed very, very little. My measurements are 23 high at the shoulder and 72
pounds, and I am a Shepherd Cross. Crossed with what? Well, that is the
mysterious part that all of us great actresses have – gotta keep them guessing!
Have I worked with other thespians? I have, and I really enjoyed my fellow calmer dogs like myself (see pic), and have only had brief contact with cat(s), which was sort of OK, but I do not think it is really the best move for my long term career. So, if you can help me reach my next starring role, Phoenix Finds a Fur-ever Home, please contact the hard working volunteers at New Hope Dog Rescue. I look forward to auditioning for you!
