Emily-Adopted!'s Story...
This sweet and smart little Chihuahua was lucky our volunteers saw her in the middle of the street and were able to rescue her before any harm came to her. Emily is a very sweet Chihuahua. She loves to give kisses, cuddle and hide under blankets. Emily is approximately 3 years old. She can be a little cage protective but not all the time. We leave the cage door open so she can go in or out as wanted. She does ok with cats and is good with kids. Emily has a toy but mostly likes to cuddle with it. She seems to be house broken but we are still learning her signals to go out so she has had a couple of accidents. Emily does not appear to have any food aggression. She is good on a leash as her foster home doesn't have a yard to run in and she loves to go for walks. Emily is in the process of learning her name and commands. We would prefer adopters familiar with the breed.
Approx 9/28/13

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Emily-Adopted!, a Detroit Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Detroit, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Detroit.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Detroit already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Detroit breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Detroit paves the way for another one to be saved.
