Meet Ms. Xena!

This pretty young lady is a Terrier mix and is looking for her very own home.  Xena is approximately 2 – 3 years old and weighs 25 pounds.  She is the perfect size fur baby (that is not too big and not too small). She enjoys playing with her furry foster brother and sisters.  Her foster Momma reports that she loves everyone she meets (people and other dogs are just fine).  She has seen a few cats, but has not had the pleasure of meeting them (all ignored each other).

Xena enjoys walking on a leash and going for trips in the car.  She is a very well behaved young lady.  She is house trained and eager to please.  Give her attention and she will reward you with lots of tail wagging appreciation.  She is a true love bug, looking for that special someone to call her own.

Xena is a real charmer.  She is a Terrier mix that is approximately 2-3 years of age.  She weighs 25 pounds and has a lovely coat of mostly black and white (with a hint of brown).  Her shiny dark eyes will melt your heart.  She is completely vetted (heartworm negative, spayed, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives).

She is presently in a foster home located in Eastern Ky.  Out of state adoptions and transportation can be arranged.  If you are looking for that new family member to share your heart and home, then Xena may be the girl for you.  Please complete an online adoption application which can be found on our website at

About Diamonds In The Ruff, Inc. - Kentucky

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a not for profit organization consisting of a group of dedicated volunteers who are devoted to saving shelter dogs and cats that are in danger of euthanasia. Rual Kentucky, Virginia, and West Virginia shelters have a constant overflow of healthy adoptable dogs and cats, with little funding and limited space. Once the dog or cat arrives at the shelter, they have very little time. It is our goal to help save these animals, and adopt them out to loving families. We do not limit ourselves to any particular breed, as we believe all shelter animals deserve a second chance. We are NOT professionals trainers or animal behaviorists: simply volunteers who are trying to save these dogs and cats from euthanasia

Our Adoption Process...

Our dogs and cats are fostered in Eastern Kentucky in one of our many experienced foster homes. We have may dogs and cats looking for a loving new home. All of our dogs receive rabies vaccine, distemper/parvo vaccine, bordatella and spay/neuter and are on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. All of our cats have been tested for Feline Leukemia, have received a feline combination vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordatella, spay/neuter and flea control. All of our dogs and cats come with complete medical records. Their adoption fee covers their age appropriate vetting, heartworm/flea preventative, as well as their transportation to your area.

Our rescue doesn't have an actual shelter building, due to this it is not possible to meet them prior to their adoption should you reside out of the area. Our dogs and cats are brought up to their new owners weekly! Our transport service is certified throught the USDA. We can provide additional photos as well as the contact information to the foster home they are living in. We strive to get good matches for our pets, so that everyone has a long and happy life together
