This is Flicker, Flicker is a 7 yer old Shih Tzu. She is adorable and happy. She absolutely LOVES other dogs. She is crate trained. She is housebroken as long as she gets outside when she needs to. Frequent trips outside with canine pack members is a huge help. Flicker loves to share your food, her food, anyone's food..she enjoys treats a LOT. Having her around cannot help but make you smile. But that said, Flicker has a pretty big down side.
You see, Flicker came from a puppy mill. And after being used as nothing but a puppy producer for the first five years of her life, she was cast off like so much garbage. She never left her cage while she was bred over and over at every cycle. Her human interactions consisted of being fed and watered, bred, and having her puppies taken away. Because of this, Flicker might not ever completely trust people. We can touch, pet, bathe and groom her but she would really rather we didn't. Though she is happy to dance around our feet for a treat. She will follow us around and play peekaboo around corners but will avoid physical contact whenever she can.
If you are looking for a cuddly companion for yourself, Flicker might not ever be that dog. If you have a dog that needs a canine companion, or even a couple of dogs, Flicker could make a great addition.
