Facts about Daisy

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Tortoiseshell
  • Age: Kitten
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: 10611592-Alex-C-Daisy
  • Hair: Short

Daisy is a true Tortie, full of sass and tortitude! She's got beautiful markings and can be very sweet and loving with her human, when it suits her. She, like most Torties, likes her independence and her affection all on her terms. Of course, she loves to play with toys and her housemates.

Daisy was raised with Max and Lil Bit, but she's not related to them. She was found in a tied bag in a garbage bag with 2 of her deceased siblings. They were all malnourished and sickly when they came into the safety of DARS. They were all born around the end of July.

But, just look at her now! This sweet little girl will bring a lot of joy to someone and they're just about ready to go to their new homes since they're getting spayed and neutered this week. They are also up to date on their vaccinations. They have all been raised with a small dog. If you'd like more information, or would like to make one of these babies the newest member of your home, please email us @ or submit an application here:

About Desoto Animal Rescue Society

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of unwanted, abandoned, and abused pets, giving them a second chance at a loving forever home. All animals taken in receive necessary medical care, vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

We are not a shelter with a facility where you can visit our pets. All rescued pets live in our own homes, where they are evaluated and cared for until they find their ideal adoptive family. We carefully screen prospective homes and require all applicants to go through an adoption application process.

We are not affiliated with the Desoto County Animal Shelter or any governmental agency. We do not receive any taxpayer funds. We operate solely on donations and the revenue we generate from fundraising events. 100% of our incoming funds go directly towards the care of our animals and to pay our vet bills. All other expenses are paid for by our own volunteers.

Donate to Our Rescue Group...

Please join us on April 23rd 2016 for our fundraiser, Furry Affair @ Bonne Terre to help us Save More Lives! We can't do this work without your support. More info and Tickets available on our website: We've also made it very easy for you to donate one time, set up a recurring payment/sponsorship or do a tribute for someone. Everything is on our website here:

Come Meet Our Pets...

Please see our website for the locations and times of our Adoption Events. We occasionally have special events which we're unable to post on all sites.

Our Adoption Process...

All pets are up-to-date on routine vaccinations and are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. All dogs are tested heartworm negative and all cats are tested feline aids/feline leukemia negative. We require a pre-adoption application and a home visit. To help cover our veterinary costs, we ask for a $125 adoption donation for dogs and puppies and a $75 adoption donation for cats and kittens.
