Tank is a sweet, loving, big mush! He wants to be with you and will follow you around the house and lie down wherever you are. He wants to sleep with you with his head on your pillow and give you kisses to show his appreciation. If you don't want him in bed, just say 'off' and down he will go. For anyone who has always wanted a pit bull, but was hesitant about their size and strength, Tank is the dog for you! He is VERY WELL TRAINED -- he will sit and wait for his food (or to go through the door) until you say 'OK.' He can also lie down, shake, speak, and catch treats in his mouth. He is very food motivated so he is highly trainable and listens well if you tell him 'wait,' 'leave it' or 'drop it.' (He does guard his food bowl and rawhide to some extent, but you can take them from him if necessary. He won't like it, but he won't growl and would never bite.) He does not beg at the dining table. He actually lies down under it and keeps your feet warm. If you have steak, he may stare at you with sad, hopeful eyes, but will listen if you tell him 'out.' He loves other dogs and likes to walk, play or cuddle with them. If your dog has made it clear that he or she does not want to play, he will leave the dog be and won't 'ask' him or her again. He has had a chihuahua or two bark at him and even nip at him, and he does not respond or react, just moves on to do something else. He is awesome with kids and just goes with the flow. He doesn't even bother to get up from his nap. He is super friendly to everyone (not really a guard dog type) and loves meeting new people and other dogs. The only negative things about him are: (1) he is a bit lazy -- REALLY enjoys lying around all day and just hanging out. You may actually trip over him sometimes; and (2) he does bark to ask for treats or to let you know it is dinner time (6pm sharp)! But fear not, he will be active if you like and he will be quiet once you say 'shush' and he sees you getting his bowl! Oh and he is pretty quiet in general. Doesn't bark much or for very long.
