Clara's Story...
Clara is a petite, adorable girl that waited 5 long years at another shelter without getting adopted. She was overlooked because she was a bit timid and did not get enough interaction. She is adjusting well to being with us and is becoming quite a friendly cat. She has a hearty purr and enjoys attention. She is also quite playful with her toys and turbo scratcher. We know she will blossom even more when she is out of the shelter life and in the right home. If you are interested in adopting Clara, please fill out our short application at www.shelterforcats.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Clara, a Winchendon Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Winchendon, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Winchendon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Winchendon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Winchendon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Winchendon paves the way for another one to be saved.
