Facts about Joey-PAWS IN PRISON

  • Breed: Labrador Retriever/Weimaraner Mix
  • Color: Brown/Chocolate
  • Age: Puppy
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Male
10/24- We are proud to announce that Joey has been accepted into the Paws in Prison program; an elite, intense training program that only the finest candidates may enter. He will be in the program for 6-7 weeks and come out with a wealth of training that any owner would be proud to show off to their friends and family. We will be accepting applications for adoption while in training, although the right family will have to wait until he's "sprung" to get him home.

9/27/16 - Joey was hanging out on a very busy country road. He was probably dumped in this particular area since he was there for about a week. People were feeding him and then rescue found room for yet another cute abandoned doggy. Joey is 40 pounds at 8 month's old. He is still a pup with more growing and filling out as labs do. He will be a nice medium chocolate lab!

The adoption fee of $425 includes age-appropriate vaccines, initial de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, microchip, USDA interstate health certificate (for transport only) and transport fee. Please go to our site for general information and the adoption application. fordogssakerescue.org. The application is the first step in all adoptions/inquiries. This is not a link; please type in into a new browser window. At this time, we are unable to adopt to Rhode Island residents. Please note: Pups marked “pending” are adopted but not yet traveled home. They are to be considered unavailable. Thank you. Additional information is available on our site fordogssakerescue.org.

About For Dogs Sake

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a small, volunteer organized and run dog rescue. We work with shelters and rescue groups in AR & AL to find homes for their locally unwanted, but highly loveable puppies and dogs. The pups and dogs are brought to New England on transport once their vaccinations are up to date for travel. We are always in need of foster homes for our pups; the more we have, the more pups can be saved.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Appointments can be made to visit some pups at their foster homes at mutually convenient times for adopters and foster parents. (The pups are up for a visit anytime!)

Our Adoption Process...

We require the potential adopter to fill out an application form and tell us about what life would be like as a puppy at your house. The address to the adoption form can be found in the pups' bio. Once the application is received, we will check your references and then contact you for an informal "phone interview." If it is mutually determined to be a good match, an adoption contract is sent via email. Our adoption fee is stated in their bios, and is due at the time of adoption. A signed and dated adoption contract is due at puppy pick up.
