My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, my name is River. I'm a young girl who came to the rescue very, very pregnant. In fact, I gave birth just hours after my arrival. I was an amazing mama cat. I took such wonderful care of my babies. It's my nature - instinctively nurturing, loving and caring. I have a friendly, affectionate and easy going personality. I am a social girl who likes to be around people. I even like to help with the chores, especially the laundry. I am just naturally happy to hang out, relax and spend time with kind people. I love being petted. I'm a 1-year-old, spayed female, shorthaired tabby cat in need of a loving home for life. I have great manners and I'm very well behaved. I use my litterbox 100% of the time. I'm not very demanding. I'm more laid back and mellow. I love everyone I meet and I've never met a stranger. I do enjoy playing with toys. I'm a great cat who deserves a fantastic home and someone who will love me for life. I am not a big talker, but I make the cutest chattering sounds that will warm your heart. Just give me a chance and prepare to fall in love! Adoption fee: $60. Adopt a pair: $90. Fee includes testing, deworming, vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip and 60 days of free pet insurance.

UPCOMING EVENTS:
Saturday, November 5: Adoption Event at Petco, 29335 Orchard Lake Rd, Farmington Hills (just south of 13 Mile Rd). From noon to 4 p.m., come meet adoptable cats and kittens (as available - not all adoptable animals will be at every event). Adoption event dates for 2016: November 5, November 19, December 3 and December 17.

Sunday, November 27: Adoption Event at PetPeople, 6520 Telegraph Rd, Bloomfield Hills. From noon to 4 p.m. on the fourth Sunday each month, come meet adoptable cats and kittens (as available - not all adoptable animals will be at every event). Event dates for 2016: November 27 and December 18.

Adoption Process: Complete the application at www.pawsforliferescue.org. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the mandatory, minimum two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. You will pay the non-refundable adoption fee at the start of the two-week adjustment period. This pending period allows your new dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.
