My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, my name is Rara. I am a wonderful lapcat, a very special girl. I am a cancer survivor. Maybe you are too? Sometimes other cancer survivors better understand the strength and determination of a cat like me. I have been with the Rescue for one year and I am still cancer free. I am beautiful, inside and out. I have very unique coloring in my short-length fur. I am a gray, brown and red tabby mixed with tortie, giving my fur an array of colors and patterns that just adds to my specialness. Cause everything about me is special. I am a real sweetie and would be a great pet for anyone. I love to love. I am friendly and affectionate, the ultimate companion and lapcat. I get along great with dogs who like kitties. I am quite the talker, too. I will chirp at you and as I am talking, I will look right into your eyes, because that's the polite thing to do when having a conversation, and I do expect an answer back. I love it when people talk to me and tell me how great I am. Who doesn't? I love my treats. It's a reward I get each day just for being me. I am a good girl, very well behaved. I use the litterbox 100% of the time and have never had an accident. I love to sit on your lap, and if you are lying down, I will happily lay on you. I am a great foot warmer or lap warmer. Whatever you need, I'm here for you. I like to cuddle and snuggle close. I'm just a lovergirl who thinks people are the best thing since sliced bread. I like to be brushed and I'm very good about having my nails trimmed. I love to catnap by the window, letting the sunshine warm me and occasionally opening an eye to watch the birds and squirrels. My foster mom says that I even do great on car rides in my cat carrier, but I will keep talking as we travel. At least I'm not asking, "Are we there yet?" I am about 7 years young. If a super cool cat who already loves you with a full heart is the right pet for you, please apply today! Adoption fee: $60. Adopt a pair: $90. Fee includes testing, deworming, vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip and 60 days of free pet insurance.

Adoption Process: Complete the application at www.pawsforliferescue.org. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the mandatory, minimum two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. You will pay the non-refundable adoption fee at the start of the two-week adjustment period. This pending period allows your new dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.
