Theodore's Story...
AVAILABLE 07-29-16 Theodore came to the Shelter back in August 2013 when he was just a kitten. He was at the Shelter for less than a week before he went to a Foster home. The Foster Family loved him so much that they decided to adopt him. Now three years later, Theodore is back at the Shelter, because his family could no longer care for him. His family reported that Theodore is good with cats, dogs and kids. He's done well with other cats here at the Shelter. Theodore is a petite guy who is quite handsome in his black and white Tuxedo. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and ready for his third family who will love and care for him FOREVER. If you might be that family, please consider adopting Theodore.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Theodore, a Elizabeth City Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Elizabeth City, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Elizabeth City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elizabeth City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elizabeth City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elizabeth City paves the way for another one to be saved.
