Facts about Nugget

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Orange Or Red
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Female
  • Hair: Short
DOB: October 28, 2015

Nugget is a very vocal, social cat. She loves to keep you company during the day. She cuddles with you when your watching TV or just reading a book. She greets you in the morning and insists sleeping with you. She is the greatest mom I know to her 3 kittens. Always tries to keep them in line. Her Daughter, Eva, is right now on cage rest so she sleeps right beside her cage to keep her company. If not her, Eva's brothers will also keep her company. She also love to sleep on a window sill and on a heater.

She sometimes likes to be picked up. When she is picked up she kind of lies down on your shoulders and tries to roll over. It's hard to explain.

When she came to me she was found on the street and got hit by a car. She had a broken hip so her first 6 weeks with me she was on cage rest to heal. When she came out she was bigger then when she went in so we went to get an x-ray to see how her hip was doing and discovered she had 4 kittens in her belly! A couple of days later she gave birth to kittens: Walle, Eva, and Mo. She loves her babies from the moment they were born. If she could stay with at least one that would be great!

Nugget and I have been together through a lot. I truly hope she finds a good home. If she could be adopted with at least one of her kittens that would be amazing and she would appreciate it.

Our Adoption Process...

Decided on the cat or kitten you would like to adopt? Please call 416-538-8592, or email

An adoption counsellor will return your call and give you more details about the cat you are interested in and ask some questions about your home to make sure the cat will be a "purr-fect" fit. We are happy to answer any questions you may have as well.

You will be supplied with the foster home address to have a meet and greet with your kitty. If both parties are happy, you can sign the TCR Contract of Adoption, pay the adoption fee and take your cat home with you in a safe carrying case.

Adoption fee is $175 per cat. This ensures that the cats that come into our care receive the attention they need, are spayed or neutered, and receive a rabies vaccination at the appropriate age. It includes 6 weeks of free pet insurance. For City of Toronto residents, the adoption fee includes a mandatory City of Toronto cat license that is valid for one year. As you can imagine, these fees only begin to cover our costs; donations and ongoing fundraising efforts carry us the rest of the way!

1. ALL senior cats (8 years or older) have an adoption fee of the adopters choice, vs. our standard adoption fee of $175.

2. Our adoption fee for a bonded pair is $100 per cat, vs. $175 per cat.
