Meet Cowboy, an 18-month old Cattledog mix, who is a very smart and active dog. He is great with other dogs, but cats are just too fun to chase. He learns quickly, and is highly food motivated. Cowboy has been working on his obedience skills and knows sit, spin, hand target, shake, and is working on polite greetings, taking treats gently, wait, and his leash skills. Cowboy was found alone in Missouri, searching for food, creating resource guarding which he is working on. His foster reports that Cowboy only guards food that is in his possession. He doesn't show any aggression when a person has food, or when his foster is giving out treats to him or the other dogs. Cowboy has made a lot of progress, will leave his bowl for a high value treat, and is associating his foster mom’s presence with treats and praise. Some of his favorite things are playing ball, tug of war, and wrestling with the youngest dog in his foster home. He also loves to "explore" in the wooded area of the yard and enjoys go for car ride adventures. We are recommending a home with older children (12+) and an active owner who will continue his training and provide exciting adventures for Cowboy’s fun personality.
His adoption fee is $175.00, which includes neuter, microchip, shots, wormed and flea treated.
