Meet Ana,A very sweet 45 pound beagle lab mix who recently had a litter of puppies. Ana came to us very pregnant from the local county shelter in need of refuge and a safe place to have her babies. Now that the puppies are grown enough to be on their own, Ana is looking for a place to call home herself. Ana loves car rides, is good for a bath and other grooming and loves to chase balls. She goes absolutely nutty over reflective light, like laser pointers. She is well behaved in a home and doesn't get into stuff she shouldn't. She is housebroken. Ana is playful but can also be a great companion and likes to snuggle or just be near you as you go about your day. Ana is very loving and affectionate towards her people, she can be a bit protective, sounding out a bark when strangers approach her home. She does well with other dogs, we don't think she will harm a cat, but she does want to chase them, which will make her better suited for a home without felines. She would love to have a fenced yard, she likes to do a quick patrol of the perimeter, then finds a place to lay down and enjoy the day. She can also easily be convinced to play fetch or watch you garden. Ana has been through a full spectrum of hormonal shifts recently, she would prefer to have a home where someone is home more often than not. We have found she does best when crated if she will be left alone, so living with people who are around or want a car sidekick would be preferred. Ana has been recently spayed and brought up to date on her vaccines. If you have room in your life for a dedicated companion like Ana, apply today

Her foster parents are Davon W.    The adoption fee for Ana is $250.

All Kalamazoo Animal Rescue dogs & puppies are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Dogs have been heartworm tested and if appropriate (age and time of year) all dogs and puppies are given heartworm preventative. All are given medication to rid them of roundworms and checked and treated for fleas & ear mites, if needed. Dogs and puppies are given distemper vaccines and depending on how long the pet has been in foster care, additional distemper vaccine(s) may be necessary and the expense will be incurred by the adopter. Any canine over 4 months of age is brought current on the Rabies vaccine. Additional vet care may have been provided depending on the particular animal's needs. Dogs are individually priced as above.

Please note that we do not ship dogs and we cannot guarantee that a long trip to see a foster dog will result in an adoption or taking the dog home on that day.

It is in the best interest of pooch and owner to enroll in an obedience class soon after adoption. After all, you have a lot to learn about your new friend. The Kalamazoo Dog Training Club offers a discount to owners with newly adopted dogs. Enroll before any behavior problems start - you won't regret it!
